History

The city of Bismarck was founded in 1872. The Battle of the Little Big Horn made Bismarck known worldwide in 1876. In 1883, Bismarck became the capital of the Dakota Territory. To learn more about the history visit here.

The Bismarck/Mandan community has so much to offer. Bismarck is home to the Dakota Zoo, North Dakota Heritage Center and State Museum, Gateway to Science, and the Super Slide Amusement Park.
